All mobile plans are subject to our Fair Use Policy.
Standard person-to-person international calling minutes and TXTs to your selected countries are included in your free calling minutes.
Billing period is the period of time you are billed for calls, texts, data and other associated costs accumulated on your account. Your billing period is fixed each month which is the 26th to 25th. This means your billing period will roll over on the same date of each month, with any included minutes, texts, data or usage refreshed on that same date.
Add-On Plan means a one-off additional plan such as NZ Data, Roaming data and/or voice services that can be purchased in addition to a recurring plan.
If there is any remaining NZ data at the time of billing period ending, then the oldest data will be used first for the new billing period.
Roaming Add-On plans are valid for 12months only from the date of purchase, regardless of when they are activated, and Roaming Add-On plans are activated following the first use of any Cellular Mobile Service included with the Roaming Add-On plans.
Add-On Plans are non-refundable & non-transferable once purchased.
Auto-Allowance refers to the NZ Data or Roaming plans that we will automatically apply. Auto-Allowance for NZ Data is activated and purchased when the full allowance of your recurring plan is consumed. Auto-Allowance for Roaming is triggered based on First Use Activation.
When completing a provisioning request for change of plan, termination or change of ownership where Auto-Allowance is available, to a plan where Auto-Allowance is not available, then the existing capability will be immediately removed.
Auto-Allowance is used only one time during a billing period. When an Auto-Allowance is activated, the next available renewal is after the 1st of the next month.
Auto-Allowance is non-refundable & non-transferable once purchased.
Rollover Data means the NZ data component of a plan can be carried forward to the following month. Maximum duration of the NZ data is 365 days. Any balances that remain and are older than 365 days will automatically be relinquished.
Usage priority is as follows : Recurring plan allowance > Purchased plan if any > Rollover (will use the oldest rollover data first)
All rollover data will be immediately relinquished if a provisioning request is submitted for change of plan, termination, or change of ownership, where Rollover is not available. For example, Rollover Data is not available on Big data or Endless data plans.
Restricts you from being able to consume any ‘casual’ NZ Data. Only purchased data, such as recurring plan data, Auto-Allowance or Add-On plans can be consumed. When completing a provisioning request for change of plan, termination or change of ownership where Smart Data Cap is available to a plan where Smart Data Cap is not available, then the existing capability will be immediately removed.
The default setting for Megatel mobile users is Smart Data Cap enabled.
Allows you to have a threshold to restrict to zero or an NZ dollar amount so that you can consume 'casual' Roaming Data up to the provisioned Roaming Data Cap threshold. For example, only purchased data such as Auto-Allowance or Add-On plan can be consumed after the threshold has been reached. Available for Roaming Data only. Voice, Text, and other services will be active for the duration of the billing cycle.
The default setting for the Maximum Roaming Data Limit is $5.00 NZD.
Data included in Endless data is NZ Data only and is subject to our Fair Use Policy. It does have tethering / hotspot included .
Within the monthly billing period if you go above the relevant max speed data threshold (or if there is no max speed data threshold, if your usage is reasonably deemed excessive and unreasonable in breach of our Fair Use Policy), the maximum network data speed will be changed to a maximum of 1.2Mbps and this reduction in maximum network speed will be removed when a new billing period begins. No notification will be provided to you when your connection reaches the data threshold, and the CDR usage will display ‘Throttled’ for data consumed after the threshold is reached and after a new data session is initiated.
This plan cannot come with Rollover Data, Smart Data Cap or Auto-Allowance.
Your connections with the Big Data plans are prohibited from tethering or using mobile hotspot capability. Megatel will re-direct you to a URL that will have a generic message advising you that you are not able to use tethering or hotspot capability.
If you go over the data threshold within the monthly billing period, the maximum network data speed will be changed to a maximum of 1.2Mbps and this reduction in maximum network speed will be removed when a new billing period begins. No notification will be provided to you when your connection reaches the data threshold, and the CDR usage will display ‘Throttled’ for data consumed after the threshold is reached and after a new data session is initiated.
This plan cannot come with Rollover Data, Smart Data Cap or Auto-Allowance.
A Data Boost will remove any throttling/reduction in maximum network data speed in place for a limited period of time or until a certain amount of data is used. The Data Boost is only available with Endless data plans and with Big data plans, and the Data Boost lasts for a maximum of 7 days only. If the Data Boost is active when the billing period rolls over the Data Boost will continue until the Data Boost data threshold is reached, or the 7 days expires.
There are no limits to the number of Data Boosts available within a billing period.
Data Boost is non-refundable & non-transferable once purchased.
You can upgrade plans only once per billing period if you want to switch from your plan to another one. You cannot downgrade plans during your billing period but you can book a plan downgrade for the next billing renewal date.
Data set to expire first during the month will be consumed first. Your recurring plan expires on the 25th of the following month and NZ Data Add-On or Auto-Allowance data plans expire after 30days from the purchased date.
Rollover Data will expire after 365days from its recurring plan start date.
