This Natural Gas $50 Welcome Credit Promotion provides you with a $50 welcome credit on your natural gas account when you sign up for natural gas only on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Please note that:

• - This promotion is not available in conjunction with MEGA Saver Promotion. If you want to sign up for both natural gas and another eligible service (electricity, broadband or mobile), then we recommend applying for the MEGA Saver Promotion instead – as this will provide you with better savings.
• - Signing up for natural gas only means that the customer does not currently have electricity service with us and will not be eligible for MEGA Saver promotion if you sign up for electricity service with us during your 12-month contracted supply term.

Eligibility

1. To be eligible for this promotion:

• a) You must be a new residential Megatel natural gas customer, meaning that you must not have an existing natural gas account with Megatel, and your property must not have been received natural gas from Megatel for at least the past 6 months.
• b) You must meet our standard acceptance criteria and sign up for natural gas on a 12- month fixed-term contract at your primary residential address.
• c) Your gas service must be connected at your primary residential address within one month from the date you signed your application. If gas is not connected within one month (for any reason), then this promotion and any supply obligations will automatically cease (and any account credit will be reversed).

2. This promotion comes with a $50 account credit and a 12 fixed term supply contract. The account credit will be applied to your energy account and will show on your first bill, and is not transferable, exchangeable, refundable nor redeemable for cash or any other use apart from being applied as a credit to your Megatel energy account.

Pricing and termination fees

3. If you end your supply contract or your service is terminated for any reason before the end of your 12-month contracted supply term, an early termination fee of $50 (including GST) will apply.

4. If you move to a different address during your contracted service term, the early termination fee will not apply:

• a) where you continue to take our service at your new address (in which case, the fixed term contract will transfer to your new address); or
• b) if your new address is where Megatel does not provide natural gas services in New Zealand, and you provide us with reasonable evidence of your move (such as a lease agreement, settlement statement, or utility bill for the new address) within 30 days of your move-out date. The waiver will be granted at Megatel’s sole discretion upon verification of the provided documents.

5. Once your natural gas connection has been provisioned, your pricing will stay the same for your contracted supply term unless we adjust your pricing:

• a) due to changes to taxes (e.g., GST), levies (including the Electricity Authority Levy and/or Gas Industry Company Levy), the NZ Emissions Trading Scheme, or any other governmental or regulatory changes; or
• b) due to changes in third party costs, for example network company, transmission, and metering charges (which may apply to both the Daily Charge and the Variable Charge components of your natural gas pricing); or
• c) if, for any reason, the information we have relied on to set your pricing is incorrect and/or requires amendment (e.g., if your metering set-up or capacity and/or your pricing category is incorrect or changes); or
• d) if your electricity capacity requirements are changed by you or a local network company; or
• e) if you move to a different property.

General

6. Standard acceptance criteria apply. Our standard installation / reconnection fees and additional service charges (published on our website) also apply.

This promotion is only valid until 31 December 2025 and Megatel reserves the right to withdraw or amend this promotion without notice at any time.
