Residential promotions

Bundle Booster promotion with $150 credit
- selected marketing channel only

1. This Bundle Booster promotion offers:

  • a) A $25 discount per month on our standard Broadband pricing for the first 12 months if you sign up for our Broadband service together with Electricity and Gas on a 12-month fixed-term contract; OR
  • b) A $20 discount per month on our standard Broadband pricing for the first 12 months if you sign up for our Broadband service together with Electricity only on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
  • AND
  • c) A $150 account credit on your energy account. The account credit will be applied to your energy account and will show on your energy bill. The account credit is not transferable, exchangeable, refundable nor redeemable for cash.

Eligibility:

2. This promotion is only available for new residential customers using a Fibre Broadband service who join via the selected marketing channels.

3. To be eligible for this promotion you must meet the following Eligibility Criteria:

  • a) you must be a New Megatel customer, referred from our door-to-door channel only, who either:
    • (i) does not have any existing services with MegaTel (subject to clause 4 below); or
    • (ii) currently only has broadband (and/or mobile) with MegaTel on an open-term supply contract; and
  • b) you must sign up broadband and energy together at your residential address on a 12-month fixed term contract for all the bundle services; and
  • c) all of the services must be connected at the same residential address within one month from the date you signed your application.

4. You will not be eligible for this promotion if you, or another person living at your address, is currently a MegaTEL electricity customer or has previously had an electricity account with MegaTEL at that address within the previous 6 months from the date of your application.

5. If all services are not connected within one month (for any reason), then this promotion and any supply obligations will automatically cease. In this scenario, if we have sent a Premium WiFi Modem 2 pack to you, this must be returned to us or else the early termination fee described below will apply. You will also get charged for modem delivery fee.


Modems and VoIP services:

6. If you are a new broadband customer, we will supply you with a Premium WiFi Modem 2 pack and there is a one-off $15 delivery charge. If you are an existing broadband customer renewing your broadband supply contract on this promotion, a modem/router will not be provided unless your existing modem/router is confirmed by us as being out of warranty.

7. Our Premium Wifi Modem 2 pack can provide wider wifi coverage than a standard router. Premium Wifi Modem 2 pack average coverage is between 200 – 350 square meters, or a 2-4 bedroom house. Depending on the size of your house, you may need to purchase additional Modem units to ensure that the signal reaches every corner of your house. You can go to here to find more information.

8. Add-on service charges (such as a static IP address or VoIP service) are not included in the promotional broadband price and will be charged on a monthly basis if required.

9. A VoIP (Internet Phone) service can be selected with this promotion, but please ensure that your phone can be connected to your Fibre ONT box – as our Premium WiFi Modem pack doesn’t support VoIP. So, you must ensure you can physically connect your phone directly to your Fibre ONT box before selecting our VoIP service.


Pricing and termination fees:

10. Pricing:

  • a) Your monthly broadband price will depend on your selected speed plan.
  • b) Your broadband service price will return to our standard price for your plan after the initial 12-month discount period has ended.
  • c) Your energy pricing will stay the same for your 12-month contracted supply term, subject to our Energy Plan Special Terms, available here: Energy Plan Special Terms.

11. An early termination fee of $299 (including GST) will apply if either of your bundled services (broadband, electricity or gas) is disconnected for any reason prior to the end date of your 12-month fixed-term contract. If you move to a different address where our services are not available within 12 months from the date your service is connected, or if you cancel the contract for either service for any reason before the contract end date, you will be charged a full early termination fee.

12. Termination of services requires 30 days’ written notice in advance. You can provide this notice by emailing help@megatel.co.nz (but the $299 early termination fee will apply if you terminate either broadband or energy services prior to the end date of your 12-month fixed-term contract).


General:

13. Standard acceptance criteria apply. Our standard installation / reconnection fees and additional service charges (published on our website) also apply.

There is a lot of information we need to communicate to you, so it is worth taking some time to read them thoroughly.


This promotion is only valid from 26 July 2023 until 30 September 2023 and may be withdrawn or amended at Megatel’s discretion without notice.
