This Electricity Only Plan Promotion provides you with a $300 joining credit on your electricity account when you sign up for electricity on a 12-month fixed-term contract via the selected marketing channel.
- To be eligible for this promotion:
- a) This promotion is only available to people who have received notice of this promotion from Megatel via the selected marketing channels
- b) You must be a new Megatel electricity customer, meaning that you must not have an existing electricity account with Megatel.
- c) You must meet our standard acceptance criteria and sign up for electricity on a 12-month fixed-term contract at your primary residential/small business address.
- d) Your electricity service must be connected at your primary residential/small business address within one month from the date you signed your application. Your primary residential address means the property where you actually live, which is not vacant, not under renovation/construction, and not an investment property or holiday home. If electricity is not connected within one month (for any reason), then this promotion and any supply obligations will automatically cease (and any account credit will be reversed).
- This promotion comes with a $300 account credit and a 12-month fixed term supply contract. The account credit will be applied to your energy account and will show on your first bill, and is not transferable, exchangeable, refundable nor redeemable for cash or any other use apart from being applied as a credit to your Megatel energy account.
- If you end your supply contract for any reason before the end of your contracted supply term, an early termination fee of $300 (including GST) will apply. If you move to a different address where our services are not available before the contract end date, or if you cancel the supply contract for any reason before the contract end date, you will be charged a full early termination fee.
- Once your electricity connection has been provisioned, your pricing will stay the same for your contracted supply term unless we adjust your pricing:
- a) due to changes to taxes (e.g., GST), levies (including the Electricity Authority Levy and/or Gas Industry Company Levy), the NZ Emissions Trading Scheme, or any other governmental or regulatory changes; or
- b) due to changes in third party costs, for example network company, transmission, and metering charges (which may apply to both the Daily Charge and the Variable Charge components of your electricity pricing); or
- c) if, for any reason, the information we have relied on to set your pricing is incorrect and/or requires amendment (e.g., if your metering set-up or capacity and/or your pricing category is incorrect or changes); or
- d) if capacity is changed by you or network company; or
- e) if you move to a different property.
This promotion is only valid from 13 March 2023 until 30 May 2023 and may be withdrawn or amended at Megatel’s discretion without notice.
